The MESCI programme is curated by the professors from the School of Economics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and is supported by other guest lecturers of Italian and foreign universities. In order to strengthen practical knowledge and skills, the curriculum is further extended by guest practitioners, researchers, experts from institutions, departments and organizations operating in the field of development economics and international cooperation.

Master in Development Economics and International Co-operation (MESCI) is a one year international Masters programme (60 credits) in development economics and public policy at the School of Economics of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The programme, which is taught in English, provides a solid grounding in the most recent economic theories in micro and macroeconomics, as well as in econometrics and statistics. This intensive Masters aims to equip students with an in-depth understanding of economic development issues, as well as with analytical skills and methods for applied research on poverty, inequality, growth, labour, credit, gender, education, corruption, environmental and trade issues.

MESCI is targeted to students and professionals pursuing, or intending to embark on careers in international organisations, public and private companies engaged in international activities and non-governmental organisations. Since its inception, this programme has enjoyed international recognition and attracts students worldwide. Students from more than 96 countries have already taken part in the programme.
