Applicants should be able to evidence that they are able to provide leadership in advancing research and teaching, with the ability to be involved in effective departmental administration and are able to contribute to strategic decision making within the Department.

It is expected that the successful candidate/s will be available to start on 1 September 2019, however, some flexibility will be afforded for the right candidate.
To undertake research of international quality, in addition to teaching on Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and contributing to administrative duties within the Economics Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Head of Department, applicants will be expected to:
1. To undertake and lead research in Economics at an international level.
2. To seek to publish in journals which are well regarded internationally.
3. To teach and lead on programmes in the Department of Economics.
4. To undertake reasonable administrative duties within the Department and to play a leading part in the life of the Department.
The Person Specification focuses on the knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications required to undertake the role effectively. This is measured by (a) Application Form, (b) Test/Exercise, (c) Interview, (d) Presentation.
Essential Criteria 1: PhD or equivalent in Economics (a)
Essential Criteria 2: An outstanding record of sustained publication in Economics of high international quality. (a) (c)
Essential Criteria 3: Able to provide significant research leadership in Economics (a) (c) (d)
Essential Criteria 4: Able and willing to contribute to the high quality of teaching on the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes within the Department of Economics (a) (c)
Essential Criteria 5: Willingness to contribute to the administration and general life of the Department. (a) (c)
Essential Criteria 6: Able to take on a significant leadership role within the Department. (c)
