Location of Conference
MAER-Net Colloquium at the Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen, Germany
October 12-14, 2017
The eleventh annual international MAER-Net colloquium will be held at the Zeppelin University, October 12-14, 2017. Meta-Analysis of Economics Research Network, MAER-Net, is an international network of scholars who specialize in or use meta-analysis to understand economics and business. The purpose of the colloquium is to share ideas and methods among meta-analysts and to introduce young scholars to this rapidly growing field. It is our intention to fund most of the expenses of accepted paper presentations. The registration fee is expected to be 150 euro and it will cover refreshment at the workshop and selected social events.
Keynote lectures include:
- Edward Miguel is the Oxfam Professor of Environmental and Resource Economics in the Department of Economics at University of California, Berkeley, and director of the international initiative for greater transparency among the social sciences—Berkeley Institute for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS).
- Tom Stanley is a leading expert in the field of meta-analysis, who paved the way for the applications of meta-techniques in economics.
Abstracts of presentation proposals are due June 1st, firstname.lastname@example.org. They may be up to four pages long. For further information, contact Tom Stanley, Stanley@Hendrix.edu, or Jarko Fidrmuc, email@example.com.
Researchers from related disciplines (e.g., management, accounting, marketing, medical research, political science, international development, urban planning and psychology) are welcome. We expect to have multiple presentations from several of these disciplines.
