The Data Science and Business Analytics Programme at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw is a four-semester programme that provides students with outstanding knowledge of data science.
Data science combines different scientific methods to extract information from data. It is a rapidly extending part of quantitative analysis, that is nowadays in high demand on the market. Its popularity can be connected to the availability of huge amount of (big) data that – when used appropriately – gives great opportunities and advantages to all sort of entities.
Data Scientists combine broad knowledge and skills of data analysis, econometrics and machine learning, IT programming with soft skills that all together make them highly desirable experts.
The Data Science and Business Analytics programme provides the necessary knowledge and skills to become a very good Data Scientist. In addition to IT and analytical courses, the programme includes classes in the field of microeconomics, macroeconomics, finance, as well as communication and self-presentation, negotiations or case-study for business. Courses are mainly based on R, Python, C++, SQL.
The programme has been as awarded a "Studies of the Future" certificate by the Foundation for the Development of Education and Higher Education (FREiSW), a national title awarded for innovation, meeting labour market demands, and a modern approach to teaching.
