The Bolzano Applied Microeconomics Workshop will be held at the Bolzano Campus of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, 2024.
The workshop aims to bring together top scholars from the broad ‘Alpine’ region who are doing empirical work in any area of applied microeconomics, including but not restricted to topics in education, labour, health, development and political economy. It will focus on a number of common areas to be determined by the fields covered by the submissions. The workshop will feature longer presentations (35-45 minutes depending on the final program) and provide an opportunity for researchers in related areas to share and receive feedback on their work. We would particularly like to see new or preliminary papers submitted.
A non-monetary prize will be awarded to the best paper presented by a doctoral student, postdoctoral researcher, assistant professors or non-tenured researcher. Papers with senior co-authors are eligible. This will be evaluated by an internal jury and decided upon at the end of the workshop.
The conference will include lunches and conference dinners on Friday and Saturday night. Travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed for participants. There will be a social program on Sunday March 17th featuring skiing for those that are interested.
An invited talk will be given by Paolo Pinotti (Bocconi).
DEADLINE: if you are interested in presenting, submit an unpublished paper or an extended abstract (a minimum of 5 pages) to email@example.com before January 28th. A decision on accepted papers will be made by Feburary 5th.
