The Bolzano Applied Microeconomics Workshop will be held at the Bolzano Campus of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The workshop aims to bring together top scholars from the broad ‘Alpine’ region who are doing empirical work in any area of applied microeconomics, including but not restricted to topics in education, labour, health, development and political economy. It will focus on a number of common areas to be determined by the fields covered by the submissions. The workshop will feature longer presentations (35-45 minutes depending on the final program) and provide an opportunity for researchers in related areas to share and receive feedback on their work. We would particularly like to see new or preliminary papers submitted.
The conference will include lunches and conference dinners on Friday and Saturday night. Limited travel support will be offered to junior candidates. There will be a social program on Sunday March 29th featuring skiing for those that are interested.
DEADLINE: if you are interested in presenting, submit an unpublished paper or an extended abstract (a minimum of 5 pages) to steven.stillman@unibz.it by February 15th. A decision on accepted papers will be made by February 23rd.
