Matteo Ploner
1 post-doctoral research fellow is sought to join a team working on the project "GENESIS: Gender attitudes and child socioemotional skills" at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Trento, Italy.
Our team is looking for a talented researcher with interest in education and/or gender differences, to work on the project "GENESIS: Gender attitudes and child socioemotional skills", funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research – PNRR GRINS Spoke 3.
The project aims at measuring children’s socio-emotional skills and children’s, parents’, and teachers’ gender attitudes and analyzing their interaction. It will investigate the influence of parents’ and teachers’ gender attitudes on children’s socio-emotional skills and cognitive outcomes. We will apply econometric methods to own collected data, merged with existing data. The project is also linked to the evaluation of teacher training randomized interventions. The successful applicant will work with Daniela Piazzalunga, Gabriella Berloffa, Matteo Ploner, and Laura Franchin.
The position is for 12 months.
Required qualifications
- PhD in Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, or Education (with quantitative focus) or be close to completion. The candidate should complete the PhD before the start date of the position
Desiderata
- Expertise in data analysis using Stata (preferable), R or other software
- Strong background in quantitative research methods (econometrics and data analysis).
- Good experience of working with micro-data
- Experience in Economics of Education or close fields.
