Your tasks will comprise the collaboration in the research project “Cities and Regions – Flashpoints for Real Income and Welfare Inequality” (German Research Foundation - DFG) and the collaboration in the teaching activities and organization of the Chair. Strong interest in Urban and Regional Economics and strong backgrounds in microeconomics, empirical and quantitative methods, and strong software skills are required.

The Chair of International Economics at Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg (Prof. Dr. Michael Pflüger) is inviting applications for a 

Doctoral Position 

in Urban and Regional Economics

The position is initially fixed for a term of 3 years, payscale E13 TV-Länder, 75 %.

Your tasks

·          collaboration in the research project “Cities and Regions – Flashpoints for Real Income and Welfare Inequality” founded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) with the aim to present your results at international conferences and publish your work in international journals

·          collaboration in the teaching activities and the organization of the Chair

The following qualifications are required:

·          Excellent Master’s Degree in Economics or a related field

·          Strong interest in Urban and Regional Economics

·          Strong background in microeconomics and empirical and quantitative methods

·          Strong software skills (e.g. R, Stata, Mathematica)

·          Excellent communication in English

·          Willingness to contribute as a team member to the activities of the Chair and department
