The position is to be filled by the Winter Semester 2026/27 at the Alfred-Weber-Institute for Economics of Heidelberg University.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding and internationally visible record of research in the fields of labor markets and political economics/public choice, or in thematically related areas (e.g., urban economics / geo-economics). Methodologically, the application of state-of-the-art econometric methods to the analysis of complex data sets is desired.
Linkages to the Alfred Weber Institute’s existing research areas—such as empirical macroeconomics, development economics, environmental economics, or behavioral economics—are explicitly welcomed.
In teaching, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the undergraduate program (B.Sc. in Economics) and to the internationally oriented, English-language Master's program (M.Sc. in Economics). The teaching load is determined in accordance with the teaching duties regulation of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
The position requires a completed university degree, a qualified doctorate, successful teaching experience, and, in accordance with § 47 (2) of the Higher Education Act of the State of Baden-Württemberg, a habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship, or equivalent qualifications.
