You will have an exceptional record in scholarship, research, teaching, and academic leadership. You will hold a doctorate in economics or a cognate discipline, with postdoctoral teaching and research experience and a relevant specialisation. You will demonstrate a strong publication record in leading international journals, proven ability to secure competitive research funding, and experience supervising postgraduate students. You will also bring excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills and a collaborative spirit that contributes to the life of our triple-accredited business school.
The Department of Economics is a recognised national and international leader in applied economics, public policy, and innovation in economic education. Its research strengths span applied microeconomics, macro-fiscal policy, economics of innovation, infrastructure economics, international trade, and regional development.
The Department hosts the National Centre for Tourism Policy Studies and active research clusters in the Economics of Innovation and Policy, Privatisation and PPPs, and Economic Efficiency and Productivity. Its faculty regularly contribute to national and EU policy debates, combining academic rigour with policy relevance.
