The Institute of Economics at TU Braunschweig is looking for a PhD candidate who aims at specializing in environmental economics and climate justice. This full-time position is on a fixed-term basis for three years, offers a salary according to TV-L E-13 (100%), and should start on 01 October 2025. The position is part of a research cooperation with the University of Strathclyde (UK) about the distributional aspects of climate policies.

Your tasks

  • You contribute to the research at TU Braunschweig, in cooperation with the University of Strathclyde.
  • You aiming for a doctorate which includes original research, academic conferences, and PhD courses.
  • You are open to teaching responsibilities and administrative tasks at TU Braunschweig.

Your qualification

  • You hold an excellent Master in Economics (public economics or environmental economics preferred).
  • You are enthusiastic to conduct empirical research on the distributional consequences of climate policies.
  • You demonstrate excellent proficiency in English and are willing to travel to the UK.
  • You are motivated, adaptable, and a strong team player.
