PhD Position in Business Economics – Ghent University

The Department of Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Taxation is looking for a highly motivated candidate interested in pursuing a fully funded Ph.D. in Business Economics at Ghent University. 

Project

You will perform academic research in the field of corporate reporting. The precise research agenda will be decided upon jointly with your supervisor.

Profile

Candidates should
✔️ hold a master's degree in (applied) economics, business engineering, complementary studies in business economics, or an equivalent degree (by September 2025).
✔️ have excellent academic qualifications at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels.
✔️ demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
✔️ possess effective communication and teamwork abilities.
✔️ be proficient in English.
✔️ be prepared to work in Ghent (Belgium).

 Offer

✔️ We offer a full-time position as a Ph.D. scholarship recipient, consisting of an initial period of 12 months, which, upon positive evaluation will be extended to a maximum of four years.
✔️ The Department of Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Taxation offers a dynamic, stimulating, and pleasant working environment. The student will be able to further develop skills through additional Ph.D. courses, seminars and international conferences.
✔️ The contract can start as of September 1, 2025 (or earlier)
