The ZEW is looking to fill the following position in the Research Department Digital Economy
Tenure-Track Researcher (100 %, f/m/d)
As a successful applicant, you will contribute to the department´s scientific research agenda as well as its economic policy advising projects. Working with a wide range of empirical methods, you will conduct scientific research with the goal of publication in high-level scientific journals and engage in economic policy advising projects with high visibility among economic decision makers and the general public.
The position is suitable for researchers who have completed or are about to complete their PhD in economics, preferably on a topic in the area "Digital Economy". Candidates should have a strong interest for theory-based, empirical or experimental analyses, in-depth knowledge of econometrics and strong programming skills (e.g., stata, python or R). Candidates are not expected to teach but should be interested to develop the department´s research agenda, to contribute to an excellent publication performance and, based on rigorous academic research, to advise national and European authorities. On top of this, candidates should have excellent writing skills. Fluency in English is required; command of German is highly appreciated.
We offer a full-time, tenure-track position for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of extension for another three years. Remuneration is based on the TV-L statutory salary scale and its associated public sector benefits.
