The Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Göttingen is seeking to fill a temporary professorship with civil servant status (grade W2 NBesO) with tenure track (grade W3 NBesO) at the earliest possible date:
W2 Professorship with tenure track to W3 in Business Taxation and Sustainability (f/m/d)
The successful applicant will initially be appointed for a period of five years. Transfer to a permanent professorship (W3) shall take place after a positive evaluation without the vacancy being readvertised.
We are looking for a team player and dedicated person whose research activities are oriented towards business administration and offer links to the faculty's research focus on “Governance and Compliance”. We are looking for applicants with research activities in the field of Business Taxation who also conduct re-search with links to global and corporate sustainability goals. Possible research topics include tax policy in the areas of climate and environmental protection, tax avoidance and the shadow economy, sustainable corporate governance, and green finance. Empirical, primarily quantitative research is expected. Promising applicants will exhibit excellent research qualifications, proven via publications in leading international, business-oriented journals, and additionally have experience with acquiring and carrying out projects funded by third parties.
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate business classes and to contribute actively to our doctoral program and the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Sciences. The university emphasizes research-oriented teaching. The successful candidate is expected to offer English-speaking courses. The acquisition of third-party funds is also expected. It will be appreciated if the professorship participates in inter-faculty associations and strives for cooperations with tax consulting profession.
Appointment requirements are laid down in § 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act in the currently valid version. In the case of an appointment to a professorship, junior professors and other members of the University of Göttingen can, as a rule, only be considered for an appointment if they have changed their university after obtaining their doctorate, or have worked scientifically for at least two years outside the appointing university. As a Public Law Foundation, the University of Göttingen holds the right of appointment. Details will be provided upon request.
