Facilities

International Relations Observatory, university analysis forum, reflection, and research regarding international issues of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communications of Universidad Europea Madrid. The Media Lab, Europea Media is integrated into the structure through a new website which will act as a tool to share content. Students of International Relations and Communications, together with professors and experts, manage the information and experiment with new formats in the treatment and visualization of data. With this academic innovation project, the faculty advances in the design and creation of teaching methodologies in this case related to the learning experience of students of International Relations and similar disciplines. 

Legal Clinic, where you will enter into contact with real clients, who need to solve real cases, working with practicing lawyers working on a pro bono basis, which facilitates the understanding of the social practice of lawyers.

Accommodation  

If you are coming from outside of the Region of Madrid and would like to undertake the on-site full-time program, you can find accommodation in line with your needs: near to campus, safe, comfortable, in an academic setting, with good services, quality furnishings, etc. Thanks to the two student halls that Universidad Europea has, both located on campus and with capacity for 550 people, with all domestic, academic and safety needs ideally suited to a student.

These student halls are destined both for students or for those teachers or personnel who may need accommodation at some point: scientific, artistic or cultural exchanges, or even for any other person whose stay is directly or indirectly related to the University.

Main improvements to the degree

The following are some of the improvements to the Degree in International Relations for the current school year:  

  • Increasing the number of information sessions regarding the international exchanges on the “Global” program, both in the classroom and outside of it through participation in International Week with representatives of Premium exchange universities (London School of Economics, UC Berkeley or Pace University, among others).
  • Renewing the content of the exchange program with the London School of Economics.
  • Updating and expanding the information content of the web pages of the degree.
  • Improving the vertical and horizontal coordination of the Degree through the figure of the Director of Degrees and persons responsible for different subjects.  
  • Boosting university activities relating to professional skills through the International Relations Club, which organizes meetings with experts in the field of International Relations as well as with alumni in the professional world.  
  • Improving the knowledge and service provided by international mentors.
  • Organizing and classifying international agreements connected to the Global programs
  • Revising languages I, II and III to include Spanish and Chinese

Degree Skills

Basic Skills (BS)

  • BS1: Students to have demonstrated that they possess and comprehend knowledge in an area of study using their general secondary education as their basis, and tending to be at a level that, although it may depend on advanced textbooks, also includes some aspects that imply an understanding of the knowledge arising out of the cutting-edge views in their field of study.
  • BS2: Students must know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional way and should possess the skills that tend to be displayed by elaborating and defending their arguments and problem-solving within their area of study.
  • BS3: Students to have the capacity to gather and interpret relevant data (normally within their field of study) to issue judgments that include a reflection on relevant subjects in the social, scientific and ethical sphere.
  • BS4: Students to be able to transmit information, ideas, problems, and solutions to both a specialized and unspecialized audience.
  • BS5: Students to have developed the learning skills necessary to embark on further studies with a high degree of autonomy.

Where can I work?

As a Graduate in International Relations you will be able to offer companies and institutions a multidisciplinary profile with solid knowledge, international experience, and the skills necessary to develop professionally in:  

  • Departments of international relations or institutional departments of public companies or private multinationals
  • Diplomatic and consular missions. State, regional and local civil service.
  • Chambers of Commerce.
  • Entities with international business and vocation: importing, exporting, market research, communication departments, etc.
  • NGOs dedicated to cooperation and development, volunteering or humanitarian missions.
  • Research centers and institutions.

2. ¿En qué consiste la prueba de acceso?

¿Cuándo sabrás si estás admitido?

Conocerás el resultado de la prueba de acceso a través de una Carta de Admisión que recibirás a tu correo electrónico. Si tienes cualquier duda, puedes resolverla con nuestro equipo del Departamento de Atención y Admisión de Nuevos Estudiantes (ads@universidadeuropea.es).

3. Reserva de plaza

Junto a la Carta de Admisión, recibirás el sobre de Matrícula Oficial. Es recomendable que hagas tu reserva en un plazo de 7 días naturales desde que recibes la carta.

4. Matriculación

Todos los alumnos que ingresen por primera vez en la Universidad Europea y quieran acceder a un grado, deberán realizar la apertura de expediente, antes de su matriculación.

El Departamento de Admisión de Nuevos Estudiantes facilitará al candidato toda la documentación e impresos para poder formalizar su matrícula.

Convalidaciones y traslados de centro

No tienes por qué seguir en algo que no te gusta. Por eso, hemos diseñado planes específicos de convalidaciones y traslados de centro. Si quieres conocer el tuyo personalizado, de manera rápida, sencilla y gratuita, mándanos un email a convalidaciones@universidadeuropea.es junto con la siguiente documentación:

  • Certificado académico personal de la titulación de origen.
  • Plan de estudios sellado por la Secretaría del centro de procedencia.
  • Programa académico de las asignaturas cursadas y/o matriculadas en la titulación de origen.
  • Título oficial traducido (solamente en el caso de titulados extranjeros)

En caso de solicitar reconocimiento por experiencia profesional, será necesario aportar:

  • Certificado de vida laboral
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Certificado de empresa, sólo en aquellos casos donde se necesite acreditar las funciones realizadas en la empresa, o en casos de estudiantes con experiencia profesional internacional que no puedan aportar vida laboral.

Programa de becas y ayudas

Prácticas profesionales

Las prácticas en empresas son un elemento clave en tu formación. Adquirir experiencia después de lo aprendido en tu titulación, es la mejor forma de entrar en el mercado laboral. Hay dos tipos de prácticas, las curriculares (incluidas en tu plan de estudios) y extracurriculares (las que puedes hacer de forma voluntaria).

Para realizar las prácticas curriculares en empresas, necesitarás tener el 50% de los créditos aprobado y matricular la asignatura antes de comenzar tus prácticas. Estas prácticas llevan un seguimiento por parte de la empresa y del profesor de prácticas, así como la realización de informes intermedios y finales para su evaluación.

Si quieres mejorar tu experiencia laboral antes de concluir tu formación universitaria, puedes hacer prácticas extracurriculares. Podrás hacerlas en cualquier curso pero te recordamos que las prácticas son un complemento formativo a tus estudios; por tanto, cuanto más conocimiento hayas adquirido a lo largo de la carrera, mayor provecho sacarás de la experiencia de prácticas.
