Our MASTER IN STATISTICS: the way to develop the technical skills to understand complex inferential problems in data analysis
Do you want to become an autonomous and critical decision maker? Do you want to be a responsible data scientist, able to deal with data analysis challenges and problem-solving tasks? Discover our Master in Statistics at the University of Geneva!
We have never produced as much data as we are doing today. As a statistician, your job is to unveil hidden structures in such data. To achieve this, you will need specific abilities e.g., to collect, prepare, understand, model via mathematical tools, analyze, critically interpret, and eventually disseminate the results of your data analysis in an understandable manner to a wide, non-expert audience.
You can develop this sought-after expertise with us at the Geneva School of Economics and Management. Here, you will benefit from our interdisciplinary environment, which offers comprehensive training, ranging from mathematical foundations to numerical methods, and including modern machine learning algorithms. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to exploit the unique portfolio of international and local opportunities that Geneva’s flourishing international and scientific ecosystem has to offer.
We welcome students coming from diverse disciplines. The ideal candidates are those who have a strong background in statistics and wish to improve their methodological skills. We also welcome, on a case-by-case basis, non-expert candidates with excellent academic records who wish to develop their data analysis abilities in the specialization acquired at the bachelor level. These candidates may be conditionally accepted following additional classes to acquire some key fundamental skills in statistics and related topics.
The application procedure opens in early January and all applications must be submitted by 28 February 2022 at the latest.
