The aim of this two-day workshop is to present and discuss ongoing research on the role and usage of survey and micro data in macroeconomics. We invite the submission of papers that are related (but are not restricted) to:
Usage of survey and micro data to address macroeconomic questions
Distributional effects of macroeconomic shocks
Role of heterogeneity for macroeconomic dynamics
Evaluation of policies
Role of expectations for the behavior of firms and households
Forecasting performance of survey data
Methodology of business and consumer surveys
The keynote lecture will be delivered by professor Michael Weber (University of Chicago, Booth School of Business). Each paper will be assigned a discussant. The program will also include a poster session. Note that the workshop will start at 1:00pm on Monday and end around 4:00pm on Tuesday.
The deadline for submissions is 15 September 2023.
Please send drafts of completed papers to nbbworkshopsurveydata@nbb.be. Please also direct all questions to this email address. Together with your submission, please indicate the name and email address of the presenter, and whether or not they would be willing to act as a discussant and/or present a poster. Authors of accepted papers will be informed by 15 October 2023.
There are no registration or other fees. The National Bank of Belgium will reimburse travel (economy) and accommodation expenses for presenters and discussants.
