The 8th year of our friendly and all-inclusive summer school offers ECTS courses focused on theory, experimental design, and data evaluation in behavioral economics and public policy. All classes are available both onsite and online.
For seven years CEBEX Summer School on Behavioral Research has offered intensive ECTS summer courses for beginners and advanced learners. Since 2021, we were joined in organizing by the University of New York in Prague. Until now, 202 students from 54 countries and 73 universities worldwide completed our courses.
CSS24 brings you a complex course focused on theory, experimental design, and data evaluation in behavioral economics and public policy. The full-experience course lasts 11 days (with two free days included) and is divided into three independent courses:
The course Data Analysis in R takes three days (July 23–25, 18 hrs. of lectures) and teaches you the basics of programming in R, free statistical software used by many researchers. You will learn how to work with data and understand basic programming terminology to be able to work on projects in R on your own.
The course Behavioral Economics and Public Policy takes three days (July 27–29, 18 hrs. of lectures) and gives you a theoretical overview of behavioral economics and behavioral public policy. We will discuss how human brains work, how evolution shaped our decision-making and what influences it today, and the use of findings from behavioral sciences in public policies.
The course Designing and Running Experiments takes four days (July 31–August 2, 18 hrs. of lectures) and walks you through the steps of experimental research. You will understand everything that should be considered when designing an experiment. We will also show you how to use an online tool to develop and run your experiment.
We designed the summer school so that you can attend the full-experience program as a whole or only the courses that best suit your needs. For instance, if you are a bachelor interested in research (or you want to prepare for writing your thesis), you are definitely able to take the full-experience program. On the other hand, if you are a doctorate student already having your research topic, you can only attend the latter two courses. Should you need more information on what courses to choose, contact us using the form below.
It's possible to attend the program onsite or online.
