The Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is inviting applications for two positions as
Researcher (doctoral or postdoc) in empirical microeconomics, especially international industrial organization or health economics
(EG 13 TV-L 75 % for PhD position; EG 13 TV-L 100 % for post-doc position)
The duration of the positions is initially limited to two years, starting on March 1, 2018 or earlier. The fixed-term nature of these contracts is based upon the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG) with the objective of promoting the scientific qualification of the academic employees.
Candidates must have completed a master’s degree in economics or a related discipline with outstanding grades. A PhD in a relevant field is an advantage. We expect very good knowledge of theoretical and empirical economic methods and excellent command of the English language.
The successful candidates conduct research and teaching related to applied microeconomics. We expect the researchers to participate in one of the following projects:
1. Demand and competition in long-term care or
2. Mergers & acquisitions, foreign direct investment, and economic development
At Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, appointments may also be part-time, provided there are no overriding administrative reasons in individual cases for requiring full-time employment.
The exact salary will depend on the personal qualification of the applicant up to EG 13 TV-L, 75 % for PhD, 100 % for postdoc position.
