Master of Science in Applied Economics
Rigorous training in modern economic methods: focus on real-world applications of the economic toolbox, not on technical details. The program is a unique blend of courses taught by academic professors and practitioners, including PhD economists from the World Trade Organization, the Swiss National Bank, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the Swiss Federal Office for Statistics, and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
Upon graduation, students can request either a Major in Data science or a Major in Environmental and Energy Policy.
Class size is held below 20 students. This favors a profound learning experience and gives participants privileged contacts with instructors. All courses are in English. Tuition fee: CHF 515 per semester for Swiss residents, CHF 790 for non-Swiss residents.

Applications are invited for 2023 entry to the combined MRes/ PhD in Economics programme (2+3/4 years full-time) at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. Develop your research skills on this prestigious combined MRes/ PhD training scheme in Economics. The full-time research masters will equip you with comprehensive foundational training in modern economics with the option to progress to the PhD following successful completion of the 2 years Economics MRes.
As part of this programme, you will receive extensive training in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as mathematical treatments of the core areas of economics, allowing you to acquire the necessary knowledge and skill for conducting independent research in economics. After year one of this programme, you will have the option to graduate with an MSc in Quantitative Economics or continue to year two of the programme where you will study the specialist fields of applied economics, preparing you for a PhD.
Up to six studentships are available covering tuition fees and a stipend for up to five years (conditional based on performance).
