About the Faculty

The International Economics program is offered by the Faculty of Economic Sciences - the best economic institution in Poland According to the RePec (Research Papers in Economics) latest ranking. The Faculty is also among 3% of the best scientific institutions in Europe. Moreover, the Faculty’s academic staff are leading researchers - 20% of the best polish economists (150 people) are researchers from the Faculty of Economic Sciences, and one of the professors is among 1% of the best economists in the world (RePec 2021).

Faculty of Economic Sciences is the only educational institution in Poland with three Certificates of Quality in Teaching by the Polish Accreditation Commission – the highest distinction in Poland.


Why study the International Economics program?

The International Economics program is a two-year graduate program, run entirely in English.

The program is tailored to enable students to fluently implement advanced macro and micro theory while modeling socio-economic processes.

The alumni of the International Economics program can obtain double degree diploma from the University of Warsaw and chosen foreign university.

The curriculum of the program contains subjects from the field of finance and economics to enable students to use this knowledge for advance finance engineering in international corporations. Moreover, Students of the program acquire knowledge about the rules of negotiations and get the knowledge about how to solve trade disputes with usage of advanced econometric tools like STATA, R, MAXIMA, Python, Eviews.

The aim of the course is to educate international economic policy experts, advisors and executives capable of embracing the increasingly complex aspects of international trade who will play a leading role in the globalizing economy. Graduates of the program are equipped with state-of-the art knowledge indispensable in the global economy, central banking, foreign affairs ministers, governmental planning and development agencies, or research and non-governmental bodies.

The program facilitates solid understanding of economic theory and familiarises with the newest trends in international economics. It also constitutes an excellent step towards PhD studies at leading universities in Poland and EU. With English as the language of instruction and among international fellow students and academics, the program guarantees faster professional start in the international setting.

The International Economics program offered by the Faculty of Economic Sciences is the most rigorous in the country and it represents the highest academic standards in the field of international economics throughout the whole region of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Alumni  of the International Economics program possess the ability to analyze the processes in the world economy and assess their impact on the competitiveness of enterprises and the ability to verify the knowledge of theoretical subjects using empirical data. This is thanks to a wide range of toolskills training subjects and many economic theories presented during studies, with particular emphasis on the use of English language literature.

Graduates of the program obtain a highly marketable qualification with critical skills required in the global economy, central banking, international finance and business, foreign affairs, economic development agencies and government economic policy departments, public or non-profit international economic organisations. Graduates are competitive in all areas of international economic activity as researchers, advisors, lobbyists, managers or policy makers.



Every candidate holding a BA/undergraduate degree (or master diploma) is eligible to participate in the admission procedure.
