The International master degree programme in Tourism Economics and Management (TEaM) from University of Bologna aims to provide graduates with the competencies required to fill highly qualified professional roles of responsibility in tourist destinations and tourism companies, T.O., travel agencies, hospitality sector, tourist attraction, events organisation firms, both at national and international level.
The Department of Economics will award 3 merit-based grants (€ 4608 gross of taxes each) for newly enrolled students in the academic year 2021/2022.
Given the transversal nature of tourism, the TEaM graduates' from the University of Bologna skills will cover both the understanding of economic phenomena in the interaction between company and tourist destination, and accounting and strategic business management.
TEaM has received the quality assurance certificate TEDQUAL, granted by UNWTO and THEMIS Foundation, the most important certification for higher educational programmes in tourism studies worldwide.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Coherently with the specific research traditions of the School of Economics and Management in these areas, the degree programme provides knowledge concerning advanced micro-and macro-economic modelling for the application of significant categories to understand and act on economic facts of tourism, balanced by business knowledge including management control, cost analysis and financial reporting, marketing strategies and work organisation of tourism businesses.
Particular attention will focus on the concept of system governing the economic organisation and supply chain of tourism destinations, the organisation of events for cultural tourism, also with a view to sustainable tourism.
The programme also aims to provide technical and quantitative knowledge of territorial programming and tourism flow forecasting, as well as the study of administrative law for local tourism systems organisation.
CAREER PROSPECTS
The TEaM graduate can work as an independent professional, or employed in: Private companies, Public bodies, Destination management organizations, Research centres, Business unions, or other positions such as:

TiDE - Project of Career Orientation
TEaM is carrying out a project of career orientation and skill matching with tourism companies. The project’s aim is to achieve through the attendance of the crash course of "Job Placement in the Tourism Sector" and an interview, the selection of a company which would suit the student's skills / competencies / career goals and which will host the student for the internship.

CAST - the Centre for Advanced Studies in Tourism
The CAST is an inter-departmental body set up by the University of Bologna for connecting research, consultancy and advanced teaching in the area of tourism studies. It is participated by four departments: Department of Economics, Department of Management, Department of Statistics, Department of Well Being and Quality of Life. Most of the members of CAST are also teachers in TEaM, so that the link between the two structures is very tight.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
All candidates shall meet the following general requirements:
- First cycle degree or equivalent bachelor level achieved in any subject, awarded by an Italian or an accredited foreign university or university-level institution. This qualification shall grant access to 2nd cycle courses/ post graduate level.
- English language requirement, at least B2 level.
