PhD Scholarships in Health Economics for domestic and international students – Monash University, Melbourne

 

Duration: 3.5 year fixed-term appointment

Opportunity:

If you are a domestic student and are looking for rigorous graduate research training and want to make a substantial contribution to research in the economics of health and health care, the Centre for Health Economics at Monash University offers a fully funded PhD in health economics.

 

Generous scholarships for outstanding candidates covering tuition fees and a living allowance of $30,000 per annum full-time rate are available with top-up scholarships for eligible applicants. Additional financial support is available through research and teaching assistance, along with opportunities for funded travel and study exchanges with partner institutions in Europe or USA.

 

We offer excellent research facilities including a dedicated PhD student work space, a Behavioural Laboratory, high quality computing facilities and internal seminar programs.

Who we are looking for:

Applicants should have a degree in economics, econometrics or a relevant discipline with a research component and outstanding academic results. Specific coursework in health economics is included in the PhD program, with coursework in related areas available. For instance, our previous graduates have been successful in gaining positions at London School of Economics, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of York, University of Melbourne, Ernst & Young, The World Bank and government health departments.

There are two separate scholarship rounds each year for international and domestic applicants. Each round has a timeline for the receipt of an Expression of Interest (EOI) and full application submission (by invitation, following notification of a successful EOI).
