The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has appointed Rodrigo Valdes as the new Director of the Fiscal Affairs Department, effective immediately. Valdes, who succeeds the retiring Vicky Sterlini, brings extensive experience in economic policy and fiscal management.

Dr. Dominik Steinkühler has been appointed as the new Head of Group Development and Economics at KfW, effective September 1, 2025. He succeeds Dr. Susanne Maurenbrecher, who will become General Manager in October.

The news was announced by Barcelona School of Economics, which she leads as General Director. Her leadership and contributions in the economic field also earned her a spot on Forbes' prestigious Top 100 list of most influential women in Catalonia.
