Gabelli School of Business PhD Program – Full Funding Scholarships Available

The program utilizes a unique approach to doctoral education to produce graduates with expert knowledge in a variety of fields. On their way toward earning a PhD in Business, students will specialize in a traditional discipline, such as finance, accounting, management, information systems, or marketing. Students will additionally complete an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to broaden their field of expertise, with focused coursework in a wide range of disciplines, including statistics, econometrics, machine learning, and economic theory.

Combined with hands-on mentoring from faculty, a focus on placement, and the New York advantage, this research-intensive program provides graduates with the empirical skills and theoretical underpinnings to enter academia as professors and researchers.

Applicants should preferably have already earned a graduate degree in business or a related field, such as an MS in financial economics, mathematics, operations research, psychology, or statistics. Applicants are expected to have demonstrated past success in university programs, as well as to exhibit significant potential as an academic scholar.

Transfer students from other PhD programs, particularly in economics, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Complete funding packages are available to qualified candidates. A typical funding package includes tuition remission, a $35,000 stipend, and healthcare. Funding decisions are competitive and are made as part of the admissions process.

Admissions is rolling and candidates will be considered until all places are filled. Admitted students will arrive on campus in August 2023.
