The group of Dr. Lin Zhang is seeking for new PhD students. Our group is part of the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong. We conduct research in applied energy and environmental economics. We evaluate energy and climate policy and develop policy guidelines. We are a young, interdisciplinary team which integrate economic analysis with technology-focused energy research and energy systems analysis. Our research is focused on two broad areas: (1) policy evaluation and policy design, (2) quantitative modelling of integrated economic-energy systems. PhD student positions are available in the area of energy and environmental economics in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong. The candidates are expected to work on research topics such as developing numerical methods (including dynamic computable general equilibrium models and/or econometric models) for the analysis of short- and long-term energy economic problems, evaluating energy and environmental policies using economic tools. The successful applicant should hold a bachelor or master in economics, mathematics, or engineering, and have ideally graduated with grades in the top ten percent of their class. Applicants with interdisciplinary background are preferable. A demonstrated interest in the topics of the group is required. Very good writing and quantitative skills are essential. Fluency in English is required.
