The Master of Science in Economics and Data Analysis (EDA) responds to new challenges in the age of information and big data. It provides a unique blend of advanced economics knowledge, cutting-edge statistical methods, and hands-on experience in processing and interpreting data to build leading economic competencies for the information society.

The MSc in Economics and Data Analysis covers a wide range of economics fields, including advanced Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economic Policy, Industrial Organization, Labor Economics, and computational and statistical methods, including Advanced Econometrics, Data Production and Analysis, Coding, and Machine Learning. Students learn to use various data types, from firm balance sheets to official statistics and big data; they learn to perform applied economic and statistical analysis, impact evaluations, and forecast scenarios. The course provides three different tracks to enhance economics, data analysis, and statistical skills.

The MSc in Economics and Data Analysis course is suitable for students planning a top-notch carrier in the private and public sectors: companies, businesses, and institutions operating in a data-driven society. Students develop the necessary knowledge and the essential skill for an effective decision-making process and strategic business choices to be top managers, analysts, consultants, or economists.

Selected students enrolled in the MSc EDA are offered the opportunity to attend the second year of their Master’s Program at the University of Trier (Germany) and earn the degree M.Sc. in Economics: European Economic Integration, in addition to the title from the University of Bergamo.

MSc EDA matches the benefit of small classes, which also allows for relational and communication abilities, with the international vocation of the program. Faculty members have scientific connections and research networks worldwide, from Europe to the United States, and international visiting professors perform 20% of the teaching. Students moreover have the opportunity of being involved in workshops, seminars, learning activities, and hackathons. Furthermore, internships are strongly encouraged.

Students applying for the Master of Science in Economics and Data Analysis need to have completed a three-year university degree (180 ECTS), usually a Bachelor degree in Economics, Political Science, Management, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
