The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to Jordan seeks information from interested organizations and individuals on a proposed USAID civil society strengthening activity. A draft program description is included in Attachment 1 in the RFI document. USAID anticipates supporting this activity over a five year period in an approximate amount of $35 million, depending upon the availability of funding. This activity is in-line with USAID’s Country Development and Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) and the Journey to Self-Reliance (J2SR) Roadmap for Jordan. USAID Sawt: A Voice for Civic Engagement aims to position Jordanian civil society and media to actively and effectively represent and advocate on behalf of citizen-driven interests. A more active and effective civil society and better informed public will assist the Government of Jordan (GOJ) in producing policies that respond to citizen’s needs while also promoting increased trust between government institutions and those whom they govern.
